Your SQL Server data, answered in minutes.

Connect your SQL Server database. VexiData describes every table and column, surfaces the metrics that matter, and suggests questions — before you ask your first one. No T-SQL required. Works from its own chat, Claude, or ChatGPT.

Your AI tools write better SQL when they understand your business logic. VexiData gives them the context they’re missing.

Why SQL Server teams switch

Your SQL Server data has the answers. The Microsoft stack keeps getting in the way.

You know the pattern: write T-SQL in SSMS, export to Excel, paste into a PowerPoint, email it around. By the time it lands, the numbers are already stale.

The old way

SSRS reports. Power BI licenses. DAX headaches.

SSRS takes a developer to build every report. Power BI costs $10-20/user and requires DAX expertise. Excel exports become the source of truth. Everyone is looking at different numbers from different points in time.

The VexiData way

Ask the question. Get a live dashboard.

VexiData describes every table and column on connect, proposes the metrics your data already supports, and suggests questions to get you started. Ask in plain English, get a dashboard you can drag around, edit by talking to it, or share with a link. One place for the question and the answer.

How it works

From SQL Server connection to live dashboard in minutes.

VexiData understands your SQL Server schema before you ask your first question.

Connect

Connect your SQL Server database

Enter your host, port, and credentials. Supports SQL Server 2016+, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Amazon RDS for SQL Server, and on-premises instances. Encrypted connections, read-only user recommended.

Understand

AI describes your schema and proposes metrics

VexiData writes a plain-English description for every table, column, and view across your schemas — so the AI knows what your data means in context, not just its types. It proposes the metrics your schema supports and suggests questions to get you started. Approve, reject, or write your own.

Ask

Ask a question, get a full dashboard

Type what you want to know — or say it. If something is unclear, VexiData asks before building. Then it generates a complete dashboard with multiple charts, laid out and ready to share. Drag things around, resize, or just tell it "remove the pie chart." Share a live link, export to PDF, or email it.

SQL Server use cases

Built for the databases enterprises actually run on.

SQL Server powers ERP systems, financial platforms, healthcare apps, and enterprise operations. VexiData speaks all of them.

ERP & Business Operations

Vendor performance metrics

Financial Reporting

Build P&L dashboards, budget variance reports, and cash flow analysis directly from your SQL Server accounting data. Live numbers, not last month's export.

Monthly P&L breakdown
Budget vs actual variance
Accounts receivable aging
Cash flow projections

Sales & CRM Analytics

Visualize pipeline, conversion rates, and rep performance from your SQL Server CRM data. No Power BI license required.

What SQL Server builders say

Builders who stopped waiting for IT reports.

Teams using SQL Server with VexiData get answers faster, bypass the SSRS queue, and ship insights the rest of the business can actually use.

VexiData transformed how we visualize data. What used to take days of SSRS development now takes minutes. Our finance team builds their own dashboards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using VexiData with SQL Server.

VexiData supports SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022. It works with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Amazon RDS for SQL Server, Google Cloud SQL for SQL Server, and on-premises instances. Both Windows and Linux deployments are supported.

VexiData uses encrypted TDS connections with TLS 1.2 or higher. Your credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256. We recommend creating a dedicated read-only SQL Server login with db_datareader role for maximum security.

No. VexiData never stores your raw database data. We store encrypted connection credentials, your dashboard definitions, and AI-generated schema descriptions. All queries run directly against your SQL Server database in real time.

Yes. VexiData generates optimized T-SQL that works with your existing indexes. We have tested with databases containing 100M+ rows. For large analytical workloads, we recommend connecting to a read replica or Always On secondary.

VexiData provides an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Once connected, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and Mistral can access your live SQL Server metrics and write correct T-SQL because they understand your schema context. Available on all paid plans.

VexiData starts free with 5 dashboards and 1 data source. Plus is $9/month (30 dashboards, 2 sources), Business is $29/month (100 dashboards, 5 sources, 3 team members), and Pro is $99/month (400 dashboards, 10 sources, 10 team members). All paid plans include MCP connection for Claude and ChatGPT.

Power BI requires DAX expertise, per-user licensing ($10-20/user/month), and significant configuration time. VexiData reads your schema automatically, proposes metrics, and generates dashboards from natural language. No DAX, no per-user fees, and your AI tools connect via MCP. Power BI is powerful for complex enterprise modeling — VexiData is faster for 90% of daily reporting needs.

VexiData fully supports SQL Server views — they appear just like tables in schema analysis. For stored procedures, you can use the built-in SQL Editor with Monaco. The AI chat focuses on SELECT queries for safety.

Yes. VexiData discovers tables across all schemas in your database (dbo, custom schemas, etc.). You can query any table your read-only user has access to, and the AI understands cross-schema relationships.

Two safeguards: you can view and edit the generated T-SQL in the Monaco-powered SQL Editor before running it, and all queries run with read-only permissions by default. Refine your question or adjust the SQL directly.
